This is just a short entry to reflect on a delightful sms (text message) I received from Manica today. Antonio was one of the first computer students we had when I lived in Manica.

In 2003 I taught Antonio the very basics of how to use a computer. In those days he could not speak a word of English, he did not have a cell phone and has never used the internet. We've stayed friends through the years, and I'm sure you would share me pleasurable amusement when I read the sms Antonio sent me:

"Good Afternoon my best of the best friend. On GDM I have bin install the skype software. For your self writ on address bar (in google) www.download free skype. Is bett to select official skype. And run installation. When your done to install, on edit now contact, writ this address: grupo.desportivo.de.manica. and try to call. Chao, Antonio"

I love the enthusiasm with which Antonio likes to learn. I love how things do not have to be perfect, before they can be explored. I love how he takes pride in teaching his teacher and I love how he is impulsively positive. This is part of the magic that GDM deposits in my heart.
